Apply for a Grant

► Staff, PTAs/PTSAs, booster and student-led groups, and school-support organizations can apply for grants. 

► Eligible projects benefit Farmington Public Schools students.

► Applicants may be faculty, staff, parents, students, or community groups.

Projects must support at least one of the Foundation's investment areas:    

• Technology Integration 
• Scholastic Achievement 
• The Arts 
• Extracurricular Enrichment and/or Special Opportunities 

Additional guidelines and requirements:

• Projects should involve students as directly as possible. For example, a film developed for classroom use would ideally be written and produced by students.    
• Grant funds may be used to compensate experts or consultants working with students, but may not be used to pay Farmington Public School employees.
• Funds may be used to purchase equipment and/or to provide field trip transportation as part of a larger initiative. Equipment purchase cannot be the sole reason for the project. A field trip cannot be the sole reason for the project.  
• Proposals that incorporate additional or matching resources may be prioritized by the reviewers. For example, a PTA, school club, or community organization might contribute toward a project with funding, equipment, services, or in-kind resources.  
• The Foundation encourages projects that can be developed, shared, and replicated throughout FPS.  

• At the conclusion of the grant, a statement of impact with accompanying photographs is required. Invitation to Foundation board members to see 'grants in action' are always appreciated!

The Foundation awards three types of grants:  

1. Mini Grants of up to $500 to fund in whole or in part: a project proposed by an individual faculty or staff member, a project for an individual classroom, or an initiative of a community organization or student group.  
2. Collaboration Grants of up to $1000 to fund in whole or in part: a project of a professional team, a school building, or a department.  
3. Major Grants of up to $5000 to fund, in whole or in part: a project that impacts student learning across the District.
